Here are a few questions that I get asked often...

Do you like being an author?
I love my job. I get to draw funny pictures and think up silly stories. What could be better than that?

How long does it take to make a book?
It can take quite a while. It took me about 6 months to finish the story for "May I Please Have a Cookie?" I didn't work on it every day for 6 months. I'd work on it for a while then let it rest for a bit and then start in again. Then once I finished my story the book publisher went to work. There are lots of folks involved in creating a book, not just the author. There is an editor, an art director, sales people, and printers just to name a few. It can take another year to get the a story into the book stores.

I'd like to be an author and/or illustrator. How do I get published?
Good for you! The best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice. I bring sketch books with me where ever I go and if I have a free minute I'm drawing or jotting down ideas. If you are young person (under the age of 13) Stone Soup is a great magazine that publishes stories and illustrations created by kids.

How do you create your artwork?
I use a computer program called Photoshop to create most of my illustrations.

Why did you make Alfie and alligator?
Alligators have big mouths and I thought an alligator would like to eat lots and lots of cookies!
